I forget if members can post announcements, but this is something I think we all need to read.
I joined this site in June of 2007. At that time, it was at the peak of its activity. It was so much fun here on this site for so long. After a while though, it ALL went downhill. Members didn't come back after the new forum folded. Activity dwindled, and the site really truly died. It was so upsetting to see all the hard work of so many people go right down the tubes. We tried to revive it once before, but it failed.
Very recently, another attempt was made. This one worked better and old members started coming back. While I think it was a big mistake to delete all the old members and posts, at least they made an attempt. I really thought it would work, especially when site founders like Praxeum and Tarna returned. It was great. The gang was getting back together.
I was a bit surprised to see that members like Praxeum thought the site should be left to die. I still believed it could come back. But then members began leaving, activity dropped, and there have been no real roleplays since the revival. I began to agree with him. Maybe the site should be left to die. Then last night, I started thinking.
Recently, older members have started returning, the most recent being Alema Dira. New members are coming too. Ones who really want this to work. I look around and I see the work of people like Tanya to rebuild and I just think "wow", maybe this can work.
Here's is the plan. If we want this to happen, if we want to recreate the site, we all have to work together. We'll all have to advertise. Posting in other message boards, telling your friends, etc. Leaders will have to piece together site storylines and reorganize their factions. If we all work, we might succeed.
Just in case this doesn't work, I want to let you all know something. I consider you all my friends and if we fail I'd still like to keep in touch. We can do this. It's not over yet.

P.S. Sorry to Shadow for not posting in our duel lately. I'll have a post up by tonight.
I agree. I've already been advertising in any way I can. What I don't know how to do, or even if members are supposed to do, is start roleplays. Is there a general direction that the site is supposed to go in, or do we make it up as we go along? _________________

I have some experience in starting up and reviving sites. I would love to make this work, it was a very enjoyable site. I have already posted my app and I have full intention to roleplay here once the site gets out of its "construction" phase. Also a way that is often over-looked by people when they start sites is simply clicking on the Star Wars Top 200 and voting for our site, its a simple, quick, and easy way to get our site known.

I do think we were there before the site died, and I did overlook that.

That's great. For now the site leaders will have to decide where we are going.
I really like the initiative you took with writing this Vandus. It shows where your loyalties lie and brings me back to that passion I used to have when I first started roleplaying online Star Wars style back in 2005 on Lucasforums.com and then The Sith Order.com.
It's stuff like that that people here, on this site, whether old or new, need to realize. We are here to do something we love to do. It doesnt matter whether we have to most numbers of members, or are currently as active as it was (or we want it to be again). It's about what two people created for people who love to do what they do.
What we NEED to do is stay true to our loyalties and our friendships. That is what brings a comfortable feel to the forum right off the bat. And if the people out there reading see how much dedication we put into it, see that this is something we really and truely are proud of, then they can feel like they belong to something that makes a little difference in some way.
I remember myself when I first came to the site. Something about the board and the way members were on it everyday, just had a good, simple feel to it. This was back God knows when, and still, reguardless of the site's condition, I always came back to check in, just to see, where things have gone.
I know from experience, it takes a lot of work to upkeep anything, but especially an online community of people who love of Star Wars, (as much as we do) and roleplay. How we can contribute to to it in our own, little way, is exactly the reason, and I agree with Vandus, not give up.
Sure, there are bumps in the road, and there are conflicts of intrest, but the way we always came through, since every member makes up for his or her own weight for the wellbeing of everyone else around thems pleasure.
I know myself, my personal life, has a lot to do with my emotional instability, work, school and maintaining my own mental health. Some people here know about the bullsh!t and how everything in some of our lives is too hectic to really do anything outside of what is important to us offline but that doesnt mean we cant commit to seeing this place for what it was originally created for. WE have a chance at a second hand, putting all our money on the table, and seeing this thing through. Sh!t, why not take it?
I have been clicking on the Star Wars Top 200 and I think our membership there has expired. We should technically be in a tie for fourth and fifth place. If someone here would like to register there that would be helpful to the site. It has a very easy registration process, otherwise I would register there myself, but I think they perfer if the site admin registers there.
I think that this site really has a lot of potential, and we will definitely get more people to join if we get a forum wide RP going in the canon section. If people come visit the site and see a RP with everybody in the forum posting in it, they will feel good about it and would like to join. _________________ No Idols. No Heroes. No Leaders. Such an action is being planned, but we are waiting for a certain number of people to join before it begins. _________________ Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his brow?

We can't wait too long. Whatever we can get started would be great right now. I also suggest we have an RP discussion forum.

We don't have enough people yet for what we are planning. If you want it done faster keep doing what you guys have been doing and get the word out. The faster we reach the number of players we require the faster the site wide saga will begin.
For those of you who are impatient I know that we Jedi will be having a Jedi oriented saga in the upcoming week. I'm not quite sure what the other faction leaders are planning for their groups though.
Once I get more time I will set up a few NPC faction sagas for the rest of you to participate in. Something on a smaller level then what is being planned, that can none the less be fun and exciting for us all.
As far as a RP discussions form ultimately what happens on this site is decided by our staff. That being said I will be making a "Suggestions Area" (where this thread will be moved to) where members can debate and give their opinions on any ideas they have for sagas and the like. _________________ Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his brow?

I just want to point out that I'm very disappointed in the lack of Sith activity. My Sith character is currently under training by Matas who, with all due respect, has been MIA in the last few weeks.
Well we could have little sagas that eventually lead to a bigger storyplot for the site as a whole. I agree that there should be more then just duels and personal RP's, but as for now, that should be good enough until the Admin/Mods can regulate the number of active members and other things to make it official.
Also understand the only downfall in any storyline/timeline for the site, is that eventually that storyplot will end and there will have to be a reformation of the site, or another plotline in the works.
I'd like to issue an apology right away to you guys. I was one this site several hours each day, helping Talon and others with rebuilding, but my activity has dropped of late. Granted, this has been due to college courses demanding more time, but I said I'd be here and I haven't done it.
So, from here on out. I'm going to do my best to spend at least two hours each day on this site, working to promote the Grey Jedi, or whatever faction I eventually end up in.
